Nike Kyrie S2 Hybrid “What The”
Nike Kyrie S2 Hybrid “What The”:
KOTC is excited as we try to bring in this elusive colorway to the basketball community of Singapore.
While Kyrie Irving’s signature sneakers have changed dramatically since the first Kyrie shoe, the designs have never gone too far out of the public’s comfort zone even despite the aggressive Egyptian themes.
The athlete’s latest, however, changes the course for the entire line-up as it fuses elements from the last three models for a pair appropriately dubbed the Nike Kyrie S2 Hybrid or the #KybridS2 as dubbed by Nike officially.
KybridS2 EP basketball shoe combines the advantages of Kyrie 4, 5 and 6, and is a basketball shoe that breaks the boundaries of design. In terms of a piece-by-piece rundown, the upper places the straps from the Kyrie 5 atop an upper more reminiscent of the Kyrie 6 in paneling; soles retain the aggressive molds of the 4, leading backwards to the now signature all seeing eye the Kyrie 6 also employs.
It has been almost 3 years since the last iteration of the Nike Kyrie Hybrid S1 which dropped back in December 2017, re-innovating with traits of Irving’s first three signature models with the Swoosh.
Throughout that sneaker you’ll find nods from each model such as its sole unit and studded heel counter from the Kyrie 1, midfoot strap and ankle entry of the Kyrie 2, and toebox area of the Kyrie 3.
The Kyrie 6 and the many iterations before it have amassed an extremely extensive total of themes and motifs.
The All-Seeing-Eye, similarly Egyptian themes, and somewhat more lifestyle iconic styling all run through the veins of Irving’s signatures — many finally coming together for the hybridized Kyrie S2‘s latest offering.
Aside from the aforementioned, the pair runs replete with many other graphic applications. Balanced by the use of black-dyed counter molds and toolings, the upper outfits with an intentionally random arrangement of past used insignia as well as tie-dye and camo treatments. Real tree outfits one foot all over the toe while its opposing complement prefers a more traditional camouflage; laterals, which bear floral embroidered swoosh, metallic variations, or thin prints, sees to even further maximalism as galaxy-like depictions counteract hits of DIY tie-dye, blank mesh, and much, much more.
This Hybrid pair is packed to the brim with easter eggs — including Have a Nike Day logos and the like — the pair will likely arrive within the coming month at KOTC(keeping our fingers crossed).
If you would love to know more about how this unique pair is derived in terms of Construction &Tech, do stay with us as we will post more details in respect to the different nods of the 3 models used to create this absolute beast of a model in the coming weeks, bit by bit.
